13 November 2014. Airbus gets FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) type certification for Airbus A350-900 XWB. The certification comes with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.
Previously, the extra wide body awarded type certification by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) on last September.

Airbus spokesperson said that the series of airworthiness test and thousand of flight hours made the FAA's decision into conclusion. All airframe and systems created beyond the design limits.
During flight test the A350-900 had hundreds of flight around the world in a months. This is one of the best achievement for Airbus engineering in developing commercial aircraft ever.
Airbus still on developing the smaller A350-800 and larger A350-1000, and expected to be finished in coming years.
Airbus claimed the order of A350-900 about 750 aircraft from 39 customers.
Qatar Airways is the first operator to have the A350-900 and involved in launch customer ceremony. The first commercial flight of the A350-900 will be on Doha and Frankfurt. Whilst, American Airlines is the first customer in North America to have the extra wide body in 2017 after that followed by United Airlines.
