Boeing is beginning the deployment of an inner-largest capacity of its Boeing 777 aircraft in the third quarter. The airframer had previously revealed he was looking at options to increase capacity in the bioreactor to extend its appeal before the 777X development.

Marketing vice president Randy Tinseth told an investor conference in London on March 16 that the company was "creating a series of improvements" that would roll in the third quarter.

These would give customers the ability to add up to 14 more seats - an option reconfiguration, which Boeing had indicated it was studying. Tinseth says that improvements will increase fuel consumption rate 2% per trip.
