Qatar Airways has announced a major expansion network of 14 new destinations on four continents. The new routes will further expand the reach of the network of the airline, and include the longest flight in the world, between Doha and Auckland, New Zealand, said CEO Akbar Al Baker in a statement.

Five new European destinations with six in Africa and three in the Southwest Pacific / Southeast Asia are added, the airline added. Daily flights will begin in the Italian city of Pisa, on August 2, while a service to Sarajevo (Bosnia) will begin on September 7, with three flights per week, and daily nonstop flights to Helsinki (Finland) is will start on October 10.

Three times weekly service between Doha and Skopje (Macedonia) will start in November, while Qatar Airways back to Nice (France) in the summer of 2017, with five flights a week.

Flights to Marrakech (Morocco) will begin in July, three times a week, and the carrier will operate four weekly flights between Doha and Windhoek (Namibia) from 28 September.

A regular daily service to Seychelles will resume on December 12, while Qatar Airways will offer three flights a week to Douala (Cameroon) and Libreville (Gabon) between January and three times weekly to Lusaka (Zambia) service will begin in the summer 2017.

The daily service to Auckland - first route of Qatar Airways to New Zealand - will begin on December 3, while four flights per week to Krabi (Thailand) will begin on December 6 and three flights per week to Chiang Mai (Thailand) also It will launch in December.

"These new destinations are where our customers want to go, and where we see the greatest opportunity to provide better in-class experience at a good price. We expect growth in our network and receive new passengers of Qatar Airways."

The addition of new routes is carried out in parallel with the growth plans of Qatar Airways fleet. On average, the airline receives a new aircraft once every 10 days, and the average age of the fleet is less than four years.
